"Teorema," released in 1968 as both a film and a novel, is one of Pier Paolo Pasolini's most renowned and radical works, exploring the decay of bourgeois society through the seduction of an Italian industrialist family by a mysterious visitor. Recognizing its musical-theatrical potential, composer Hans Werner Henze secured the rights for an opera adaptation, eventually entrusting Italian composer Giorgio Battistelli to compose it. Now, 30 years later, Battistelli revisits "Teorema," expanding it into a full-length opera, drawing from his extensive experience to enhance the musical adaptation.
