Marwa El-Sherbini, three months pregnant, was stabbed to death in a German courtroom by Alex Wiens in 2009. Her husband rushes to help, but is seriously injured by the perpetrator and shot by a BKA security officer. Alex Wiens remains unharmed. He was charged with racially abusing Marwa El-Sherbini and her three-year-old child in a playground.
In this court scene, a deeply rooted and cultivated violence against everything that is “different” in Germany is unleashed. Downplayed in public as an isolated case, it shows the deeply racist structure of an intergenerationally reproduced colonial rule and ethno-nationalist ideology.
